I think it’s safe to say that everyone with a website or blog want’s more traffic. More traffic means more opportunities to engage, build your list and help your audience. Of course you don’t just want more traffic, you want more quality traffic. I’d rather have 100 visitors a day who are interested in what I have to say, than a thousand visitors who don’t care.
So, here are a few ways to get more high quality traffic to your website.
1. Email your list. Yes, this seems obvious and you already knew this, but are you actually doing it? I’m surprised to see how many emails I get that don’t have a link leading me back to the senders website. WTH? Seriously, your autoresponder series or ezine must have a call to action that sends me to a page on your site. And 1000 Bonus Points if you send me to a page that gets me into a new marketing funnel. Booyah!
2. Have Social Share buttons. Again, this seems obvious, but there are still plenty of folks who don’t take advantage of social sharing or have outdated sharing buttons. Be sure to have the new Like button for Facebook, a Twitter button, Google Plus, LinkedIn and if your posts have photos, have a Pinterest button. Pinterest is awesome for driving traffic back to your website. I also recommend the up and comer, Buffer.
3. Write a guest post. Guest posting can drive hoards of traffic to your site. Find a great blog that caters to your ideal prospect, but doesn’t compete directly, and find out if they accept guest posts. Write the best article that you can and submit it for publication. You may have to try several sites and write several excellent posts before you are accepted, but it will be totally worth the effort. Any posts that aren’t accepted can be published on your site. You just can’t lose here. If this sounds good, take a lesson from John Morrow of Copyblogger, he’s the Master of guest blogging.
4. Have a strong call to action. OK my friends, here’s where the rubber meets the road. Your visitors will rarely take action unless they are asked told to do so. Tell them to comment or share or sign up, don’t be ambivalent, but do be nice. 🙂

Great information! This is a bit of an obsession with me and I wish it wasn’t! I’d really like to venture into the guest blogging bit, but I’m still a little unsure about my writing that I keep coming up with reasons NOT to do it. I will check out the resource you suggested and maybe take the plunge LOL!
Glad that you stopped by Mom-ology and I was able to give you a laugh! Nothing better than at least one good laugh each day!
Cheers,
Jen
